What is NFC?

NFC stands for Near Field Communication, this technology allows users to make secure transactions, exchange digital content, and connect electronic devices with just a touch. It’s a type of radio communication standard, much like Bluetooth, WiFi and other networking technologies. It's different in that it operates only at a short range of just a few centimeters.

How Do I Log-in & Scan?

Open the app and click on the “Log in here!” button underneath “Sign Up”
Type in your email address and password.
Click on the “Login” button.
This will take you to the home page with a button saying “Scan Evermée”
Once you press this button there should be a pop up that says “Ready to Scan”.
Hold your Evermée jewelry against your phone (where the NFC scanner is located) and gently move it around. Note: an NFC scanner has to touch your device to be scanned, and make sure there is no gap between your phone and your gemstone
Once it’s been scanned, a new page will pop up, here you can begin to upload your photo and immortalize your memory.

There are few things that you need to keep in mind when it is your first time scanning your evermée.

- Please make sure there is no other metal object near your phone and your evermée.
- If you are using a metal / solid phone case, pop socket or phone finger ring holder, please take them off as it could weaken the NFC antenna sensitivity on some devices

Is NFC dangerous?

Many experts say NFC really is fundamentally secure by virtue of its extremely short range. In order to snag your NFC signal, a hacker would need to be very close to you. Uncomfortably close. In other words, you'd know they were there. Many NFC applications, like evermée’s application, work at such short range that you virtually have to touch a smartphone to an NFC device in order to establish the connection.
